AMY HERNANDEZ
Amy was born and raised on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks where she currently resides with her husband, Peter, and two amazing children, Victor and Cicylia. She attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. As a child Amy began her dancing career in jazz, modern, and ballet. At first, ballroom and Latin dancing was just a hobby. It didn’t take long for her to leave years of working in the corporate world to make dance her new career. Today, Amy’s love of dance has led her to integrate it in to her life day-in and day-out. Amy has been ballroom dancing for 14 years and is the co-owner of LaRoca Dance Studio in Osage Beach, where alongside her husband, Peter, they instruct Latin and Ballroom Dancing at both social and competitive levels. Their studio has received top studio and top teacher awards several times over the last 10 years, most recently with their students at the 2015 St. Louis Star Ball. In addition, Amy has been a wedding and event coordinator for 15 years and is now director of events at La Roca Club.
For Amy the most rewarding part of teaching is watching couples grow in their relationships, reigniting their connection and passion. Her advice, "Use your heart and soul when dancing. If there is no joy, then it isn’t dancing! So Enjoy!”.
